The ethanol industry is struggling with an oversupply of product and sluggish demand. But Pacific Ethanol CEO Neil Koehler says there are indications production is starting to come down.
“We’re hearing about it, we’re seeing it. There have been some announced plant closures of late,” Koehler says. “If you look at the production numbers over the last two weeks, they’re down about three percent. And since they peaked this year in early June, they’re down a little over six percent.”
Koehler says the industry needs to get supply back in line with demand.
