Direct cash cattle markets are quiet. Asking prices are scattered at
$186+ dressed in Nebraska and outside of a few bids at $183 dressed, also in
Nebraska, packer inquiry is still non-existent, so widespread business might
end up waiting until the second half of the week, even if packers are in need
of supplies after last week’s light trade. Both sides will continue to monitor
the wholesale market for demand signals and wait for the trade talks with Japan
later this week.
