Farm Bureau leaders say reopening the door to one of the largest markets in the world is key to helping farmers get back on their feet. AFBF President Zippy Duvall says they support the Administration’s efforts to stop unfair trade practices by China, but now it’s time to eliminate tariff barriers.
Wisconsin Farm Bureau President Jim Holte tells Brownfield he’s not optimistic about having a trade deal with China completed soon. “Some trade deals with places like Japan and others have a lot more potential for short-term results, but I just have this feeling that China is going to take a while.”
Holte says if a China trade deal is reached, it will still take time to rebuild markets.
