A slow-moving cold front currently crossing the Midwest will reach the Atlantic Seaboard around midweek. The front will stall along the middle and southern Atlantic Coast, where showers may persist for the remainder of the week.
Five-day rainfall totals could reach 1 to 2 inches or more across the South, East, and lower Midwest. Late in the week, a new round of showers and thunderstorms will develop across the nation’s mid-section.
Elsewhere, monsoon-related showers in the Four
Corners States and environs will contrast with dry weather across the Far West
and the southern High Plains.
