The USDA says June poultry production was up slightly on the year at 4.039 billion pounds. Most of that was chicken at 3.554 billion pounds, also up slightly on the year, cancelling out modest declines for turkey and duck, at 474.002 million and 11.043 million pounds, respectively. For the year to date, total poultry production is 24.536 billion pounds, 1% ahead of the 2018 pace. The total live weight of all poultry was 5.329 billion pounds, about a million more than in June 2018.
