The
American Farm Bureau is pushing for H-2A reforms as the federal government plans
to expand deportations of undocumented workers.
President
Zippy Duvall says laws must be followed but they must also allow for an adequate
and legal workforce.
U.S. Secretary Sonny Perdue recently told reporters increased deportation efforts are meant to crack down on criminals. “It’s not targeting people who are working out here honestly, it’s targeting criminals who already have a deportation order from a judge.”
Farm
Bureau is asking for stronger immigration enforcement along with a more affordable
H-2A program that works for year-round needs.
