Dairy economists expect milk prices will remain near $18
for the fourth quarter and be even better in 2020.
University of Wisconsin’s Bob Cropp says better exports, slow global milk production growth, and steady domestic demand will support prices. “I’m looking at high $16s for the first part, high $17s for the second part, an average of 50 cents to a dollar higher for the year.”
Mark Stephenson says there are no longer excessive stocks overhanging the market, demand is good, and supplies are limited which could take prices even higher.
