The U.S. and Japan continue to work on a trade deal involving agriculture and automobiles.
According to one report, the deal could involve Japan offering U.S. farmers better access to its market in return for Washington reducing tariffs on certain Japanese auto parts. The Trump administration is reportedly asking for increased access for U.S. beef, pork, wheat and dairy products.
The pace of the talks is expected to pick up after Japan’s elections this weekend.
