Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb says the state of Indiana is
requesting a U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretarial disaster declaration
for 88 counties.
He says excessive rains and saturated fields across Indiana are hurting crops and farmers. Holcomb says he will continue to monitor the situation.
The request was made today in a letter to USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue and was signed by Holcomb, Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch, and Indiana Farm Service Agency Executive Director Steven Brown.
