Legislation has been introduced in both the U.S. Senate and
House that would prevent federal agencies from interfering with state marijuana
policies.
The State Commerce Cannabis Act, introduced by Oregon
lawmakers, protects state cannabis programs from federal interference and
allows for interstate commerce and transport.
The policy makers say the gap between state and federal
laws is widening and becoming more confusing as more states allow for cannabis,
and Congress should protect state’s rights.
