The USDA says with less than a quarter left in the 2018/19 marketing year, corn, sorghum, and soybean inspections continue to trail the 2017/18. That’s because of tariff issues, tensions with major trading partners, and increased competition. The 2019/20 marketing year for wheat started June 1st and 2018/19 runs through the end of August for beans, corn, and sorghum.
For the week ending June 27th, wheat inspections were 609,037 tons, up 175,723 from the week ending June 20th and 284,489 higher than the week ending June 28th, 2018.
