More and more farmers are starting to express frustration with the continued uncertainty over trade.
“As farmers, we don’t have the ability to say, ‘okay, we’re just going to shut down production for a while—or ratchet back—and then once the trade negotiations are squared away, we can bring things back up’,” says Brandon Hunnicutt of Giltner, Nebraska. “So we go out there and we keep producing, and the markets react the way they have been with the tariffs talk out there.”
Farmers need some good news on the trade front, Hunnicutt says.
