and wet weather is continuing to keep many Wisconsin planters in the shed. USDA reporters say there were just over
two-and-a-half days suitable for fieldwork last week, but the saturated ground
meant little to no activity.
Spring
tillage is 29% finished, a day ahead of last year but six days behind average.
Seven
percent of Wisconsin’s corn is planted, and USDA statistics show that corn
planting was even later in 2013 and 2014.
Wisconsin’s pastures are also in the worst condition they’ve been in for
the last five years, with only 36% in good to excellent condition.
