Brownfield’s meteorologist says a window of opportunity for
planting should open for some farmers next week.
Greg Soulje tells Brownfield some regions of the Corn Belt could get one to four inches of rain or more in the next day or two, but after that…
“There will be opportunities to make some incremental improvement to planting progress in those same water-logged areas of the central and southern Corn Belt and east central plains later next week and probably another week or so after that.”
Soulje says the month of May will be abnormally cool which could impact emerging crops in some areas.
