Planting delay considerations

Wet conditions have impeded field work going back to last
fall, and farmers throughout the Midwest are idled as more rain moves across
the country.
With the calendar now in May, the urgency to plant corn is
real. But an agronomist based in the
Upper Midwest cautions growers to not get in too big a hurry.
Adam Spelhaug with Peterson Farms Seed, an independent seed company headquartered near Fargo, North Dakota, says it’s been a frustrating stretch with saturation keeping many farmers out of the field.
