Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says making broadband available to all rural areas would bring a significant annual boost to the US economy.
“From the low of a $45 billion increase to a $65 billion increase to the economy.”
A USDA report shows nationwide broadband would allow more farmers to adopt precision ag technology that would expand production and income.
“When we talk about infrastructure, this has to be one of the top infrastructure needs of America.”
Perdue says
it will take a lot of money to add the necessary infrastructure.
