In the latest example of political form over substance, or simply overthinking, defeated Senators from North Dakota and Indiana announced this week a national effort to recapture voters from those fly-over states assumed to be firmly and forever part of President Trump’s “base.” As Axios online news service headlined it: “Dems Plan to Teach 2020 Candidates to Talk to a Trump Voter.” The effort is dubbed the “One Country Project.”
