Cover crop acres are
increasing in the US and a cover crop expert says he expects that trend to
continue.
The USDA’s 2017 Census of Ag
data shows cover crops were planted on more than 15 million acres in 2017, an
increase of 50% in five years.
Jerry Hatfield with the with National Laboratory for ag and the Environment in Ames, Iowa says more farmers are realizing the benefits of cover crop systems.
