Indiana farmer Kip Tom has been confirmed as U.S. ambassador to three United Nations agencies based in Rome.
Tom, who was nominated in July, will serve as ambassador to the Food and
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the International Fund for Agricultural
Development, and the World Food Program.
The Leesburg native was confirmed by the Senate Thursday.
Tom has ag experience in north America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
