Upper Midwest storm will further delay forages

A mixture of heavy snow and ice is expected to further
delay forage crops coming out of dormancy.
Lisa Behnken with the University of Minnesota says alfalfa growth has been slow and behind normal.
“But that’s not all bad given what the forecast looks like.”
Much of the Upper Midwest is experiencing winter-like conditions
as snow, sleet and rain move in from the Northern Plains.
She tells Brownfield plants that haven’t broken dormancy should be able to ride out the storm.
