Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says it would be “devastating” if the weed killer glyphosate were removed from the market, although there is no move to do so. Perdue was reacting to the trials against Monsanto’s glyphosate
product RoundUp® – where juries have agreed with plaintiffs that the chemical
caused their cancer.
Testifying at a congressional appropriations committee,
Perdue says groups that oppose glyphosate nave not been able to win on the science
side, “They’ve chosen the litigation route and you go before juries with some
sad cases of people having cancer and are having multi-million-dollar awards.
