Canada is threatening new retaliatory tariffs on more U.S.
exports if the U.S. tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum aren’t ended. A
piece in Agri-Pulse quotes Canadian Ambassador David MacNaughton saying the new
tariffs, including some on U.S. farm goods, are set to be imposed next week “more
out of sorrow than out of anger.”
U.S. ag products on Canada’s list of new tariffs could include apples, pork,
ethanol and wine, according to MacNaughton.
