USDA has
again lowered its milk production forecast for this year because of slower than
expected milk per cow growth.
In its April
supply and demand report, USDA forecast 2019 cheese prices higher because of
strong demand. Butter, nonfat dry milk
and whey prices were lowered because of expected weaker demand.
Class III
prices were raised on higher cheese prices while the Class IV price was reduced
from lower butter and nonfat dry milk prices.
