Rain in the eastern U.S. will mostly end by Saturday. Meanwhile, a series of Pacific disturbances will maintain showery conditions across large sections of the country during the weekend and early next week, accompanied by near- or above-normal temperatures in most areas.
Five-day
rainfall totals could reach 1 to 3 inches or more along and east of a line from
eastern Texas to Lake Erie. Significant precipitation, including high-elevation
snow, will also fall in the nation’s northwestern quadrant.
