USDA’s outlook chairman says recent soybean sales to China might sound good, but those purchases have actually put more uncertainty on the trade situation.
“Will those commitments grow? Will they promise to buy more? Will more get put on the books? Will it start to move? Does it happen this year or does it roll to next year? Even then, it is less than they have taken in previous years.”
Seth Meyer says several small purchases have increased the price a little but have also made it harder to forecast the soybean market.
