The bill legalizing hemp and
related products like CBD oil passed the Ohio Senate Thursday.
Ohio Senator Brian Hill says
the bill would create an industrial hemp program in Ohio administered by the
Department of Agriculture.
Hill says it’s an exciting
opportunity for farmers to expand the crops they plant and could also improve
soil health.
Hemp was removed from the list of scheduled substances banned by the federal government in the 2018 Farm Bill and can be grown as a commodity crop.
