Planting more corn in 2019 might only be better in theory
if delays materialize this spring.

Southeast Minnesota farmer Michael Petefish says the reality is a lot of fall fieldwork didn’t get done and this year is starting out wet.

“When you look at the cash flows, I think soybeans are tougher than corn right now, (but) any consideration of corn on corn is almost certainly not realistic with spring tillage requirements.”

But he tells Brownfield there’s still time for the weather to turn around.
