Application deadlines for Illinois farmers to enroll in the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and special initiatives have been set for April 19th and May 17th. NRCS conservationist Eric Gerth says farmers can still sign up throughout the year…
“But, when we announce these application deadlines, we take the applications that have been submitted up to point and then rank those applications and the highest ranked applications receive funding.”
Gerth tells Brownfield EQIP for practices like cover crops is very popular in the state but there are also special programs available.
