Top U.S. ag trade officials say there’s urgency for a
bilateral trade deal with Japan, once progress is made with China, “I hope
everybody gets the sense of urgency on my part with regard to U.S. ag exports
to Japan.”
That’s Greg Doud, the U.S. Trade Representative’s top ag
negotiator, speaking to reporters at the USDA Ag Outlook Forum. Ted
McKinney, Ag Under Secretary for Trade, agrees, “My sense is we can’t get to
Japan fast enough.”
