Soybeans were modestly higher on short covering and technical buying. Parts of Brazil have received rain recently, but some key growing areas remain hot and dry. With early harvest ongoing and ahead of schedule, Brazil’s beans are now priced below U.S. beans, further limiting export competition. According to wire reports, the state ag research group in Parana, Brazil’s second biggest production state, lowered its 2018/19 crop guess to 16.8 million tons with 15% of the crop harvested.
