A Farm Service Agency supervisor in Wisconsin says about half of the agency is still working during the government shutdown. Jake Bourget manages FSA offices in four central Wisconsin counties, and says, “The GS (General Services) employees, we call those, they are shut down but the Farm Service Agency farm program side which are called county office employees, because we’re under a different budget, we’re still open basically until we run out of that money.”
Bourget tells Brownfield he can’t say how long the county offices will stay open because it’s day-by-day, but he confirms that might happen everywhere at the end of the day Friday.
