A sixth case of Classical Swine Fever has been identified in Japan.
Swine Health Information Center Director Paul Sundberg says the outbreak is linked to feral hogs.
“They found quite a number of them positive- out of 500 and some pigs tested around central Japan, 14 percent have been positive,” he says. “But, in other areas of Japan where they continue to do surveillance on feral pigs, there haven’t been any positive results.”
The latest case of the disease was found in Gifu, a city in central Japan.
