The U.S. beef industry is hopeful the tariff ceasefire with China eventually leads to greater access for its products.
Ashley Kohls with the Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association says it will be interesting to see what the Chinese might agree to, pointing out that retaliatory tariffs on beef have not been a major issue.
“Some of their traceability requirements don’t necessarily fit what we’re currently doing in the beef industry, and also in regards to some of the technology we use for efficiencies like implants.
