Soybeans were modestly lower on fund and technical selling. Harvest activity is slower than average nationally, but some areas likely made progress early this week and near-term forecasts mostly look good, aside from some scattered delays. Recent weather has likely limited at least some of the crop’s potential, but most analysts still expect a very large, if not record, U.S. crop this year. Planting conditions in South America also mostly look good. According to wire reports, Brazil continues to plant soybeans at a record pace and is also expected to produce another very large, if not record, crop.
