Direct cash cattle trade is quiet this morning. Both bids and asking prices have yet to be established. After the strong finish to cash trade last week, there’s hope this week will follow suit. Showlists are mixed, with higher available ready-numbers in Nebraska and Colorado, steady in Kansas, and lower in Texas. Significant trade volume isn’t expected to develop until the second half of the week.
At the close, at the Joplin Regional Stockyards in Missouri, receipts are down on the week and up on the year.
