At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle futures closed weak ahead of widespread direct cash trade and were unable to find support in the strong wholesale values at midday. Feeder cattle futures were lower on technical selling. December live cattle closed $.45 lower at $116.80 and February live cattle closed $.50 lower at $122.30. November feeder cattle close d$1.72 lower at $152.17 and January feeder cattle closed $1.72 lower at $148.10.
Direct cash cattle trade has been quiet as both bids and asking prices have yet to surface.
