Direct cash cattle markets are at a standstill. Asking prices are $115+ live and $178 to $180 dressed, with bids of $109 live and $174 to $175 dressed. Most buyers appear to be short bought, especially in the South, but with the distance between bids and asking prices, widespread trade could easily wait until Friday. Weekly beef exports were 14,600 tons, up 12% on the week and steady with the four-week average. An additional 5,200 tons were sold for 2019 delivery.
