It’s been dry year, so far, in extreme southeast Iowa.
“We are, for lack of a better term, ‘limping along’ from one shower to the next,” says farmer Wayne Humphreys of Columbus Junction, Iowa.
Humphreys says they’re about three inches short of normal growing season rainfall, but an inch over the past week has helped considerably.
“The corn has responded remarkably. It looks very, very good,” he says. “It’s a dark, deep green color.
