The value of the National Ag Statistics Service (NASS) came under question during Commodity Classic.

Bob Worth, a southwest Minnesota farmer and onetime vice president of the American Soybean Association, tells Brownfield there was a time when NASS provided essential information.

“It was a great program and the only way the government got data, but today it’s not the program that we need.  (the USDA) needs to move on with the times like they’re making us at the FSA office doing all the computerized updates.
