Farmers attending Commodity Classic welcomed news that Iowa Ag Secretary Bill Northey has been confirmed as USDA Undersecretary for Farm Production and Conservation.

North-central Iowa farmer April Hemmes says she couldn’t be happier.

“When they announced it in our Iowa meeting there was a great round of applause.  We’ve all been waiting for it, and with no disruption to the RFS hopefully.”

Rolland Schnell, who farms in south-central Iowa, tells Brownfield the hold on Northey’s nomination has been frustrating.
