Direct cash cattle markets remain at a standstill. There’s plenty of room between the asking prices of $127 to $128 live and $200 to $202 dressed and the bids of $122 live and $193 to $194 dressed. Widespread business may end up waiting until after the USDA’s cattle on feed report, out Friday at 3 Eastern/2 Central. The total number of cattle on feed should be up on the year, but, on average, analysts expect marketings and placements to be lower.
