Minnesota is moving forward with an aggressive plan to promote biodiesel in the state.
In 2002, the Minnesota legislature passed a law requiring that diesel fuel sold in Minnesota contain at least two percent biodiesel, with plans to increase blends moving forward.
Currently, 10 percent biodiesel is required during the warmer months and 5 percent from October to March.
The law calls for increasing the mandate to 20 percent later this year, and Minnesota Soybean Growers Association CEO Tom Slunecka says that plan remains on track.
