Direct cash cattle markets are still at a standstill. Asking prices are $126 to $127 on the live basis and $200 dressed with bids at $122 live and $192 to $193 dressed. After some light trade in Kansas Tuesday, widespread business could still wait until after the cattle on feed numbers, due out Friday at 3 Eastern/2 Central. The total number of cattle on feed as of January 1st is expected to be a multi-year high.
