The ranking member of the House Ag Committee’s Farm Commodities and Risk Management subcommittee has introduced a bill to support beginning farmers and encourage good conservation practices.
Minnesota Congressman Rick Nolan says the Crop Insurance Modernization Act of 2018 increases access to insurance premium discounts by expanding the definition of a beginning farmer.
“(Around) 50 percent of all farmers with more than $10,000 dollars in revenue do not have any crop insurance.
