Minnesota Pork CEO David Preisler says he’s worried that if the renegotiation of NAFTA is not finalized this month, the future of the agreement becomes a lot murkier.
“Because we’ll get into some political issues with elections obviously in this country and also in Mexico, so we’ll see what happens from there. But (NAFTA) is really important for us (and) we urge they keep it and let’s just move on.”
The last scheduled round of NAFTA negotiations will be next week in Montreal, and Preisler says the message from agriculture continues to be “do no harm.”
