A U.S. Senator is pushing Congress to fix the dairy margin protection program in the 2018 ag funding bill.
“I’d like to see us make a commitment to dairy in our ag appropriations process.”
Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin tells Brownfield the dairy margin protection program was meant to provide farmers with an insurance if the margin between the price of milk and the cost of feed gets to a certain level, but it’s not working.
