Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were up on short covering in relatively low trade volume. It was an up and down session, absent of any position squaring ahead of or reaction to direct cash business, which, surprisingly, wrapped up earlier in the week. February was up $.20 at $117.07 and April was $.20 higher at $118.87.
Feeder cattle were mixed on spread trade and general consolidation in the absence of direct cash business.
