A class-action lawsuit accuses Wal-Mart of deceiving customers by selling organic eggs that were raised by hens in enclosed structures.
The lawsuit says Wal Mart used labels stating chickens had access to the outdoors, but they were instead raised inside by Cal-Maine Foods.
The USDA requires that organic livestock have year-round access to the outdoors. The lawsuit says even though the enclosed structures had screens to let air in, the theoretical ability to view the outdoors is not the same as having access to it.
