A dry bean industry leader says prices have been stuck in a lull for Michigan farmers following a better than expected harvest.
Joe Cramer with the Michigan Bean Commission tells Brownfield historic flooding in some of the region’s dry bean country had a lot of farmers concerned about if there would be a crop to harvest this year. “We ended up making it to harvest with much better yields than anybody I think anticipated and the quality of that crop is really good.”
He says prices have dipped some as the 2017 crop has entered the marketplace, but not as much as buyers expected.
