At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures recovered some of their recent losses with moderately higher closes on supportive wholesale beef prices and technical buying. February live cattle closed $.45 higher at $117.67 and April live cattle closed $.22 higher at $119.52. January feeder cattle closed $.92 lower at $145.47 and March feeder cattle closed $.82 higher at $142.75.
Light to moderate direct cash cattle trade has continued through today. Northern dressed sales are mostly at $192, about $3 lower than last week.
